Dominic J Orologio

Rotterdam Junction – Dominic J. Orologio, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, December 19th, 2017 at the Capstone Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. Dominic was born in Delanson and was the son of the late James and Carmella (Nive) Orologio. Dominic honorably served his country as military police in the US Air Force following World War II and was stationed in Germany and Italy. Dominic worked for many years as an equipment operator and foreman at Rotterdam Septic Systems. After his retirement, he was able to fulfill his dream of becoming a mason. An avid outdoorsman, Dominic enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as gardening and boating on the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers. He was predeceased in 1999 by his first wife, Rosemary (DeLap) Orologio. He is also predeceased by his sons, Robert and Jeffrey Orologio, his siblings, Lincoln Orologio, Diana Raymond and Phyllis Finnegan and his son-in-law, Robert Pedone. Dominic leaves behind his wife, Helen Aldi Orologio, his children, Dominic Orologio Jr. (Patti), David Orologio (Sandra) and Bonnie Pedone, his 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren as well as his siblings, Anna Brannan, Jean Gootz, Rosalie Bonkoski, Tony Orologio, Rosemary Boprey, Dolly Spears and Tommy Orologio. Calling hours will take place on Satuday, December 23rd from 10am-12pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. in Rotterdam. A memorial service will follow at 12pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Albany, NY 12211.
