Dominic L Bagnato

Schenectady – Dominic L. Bagnato, 97, passed away on Thursday, July 26th, 2018 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home. Born in Schenectady, Dominic was the son of the late Rocco and Rosa Maria (Pileci) Bagnato. Dominic worked for 42 years as a gas and electric welder at ALCO and General Electric. He was a longtime member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and their Men’s Society, the Rotterdam Elks and the Sons of Italy, as well as a founding member of the Mt. Carmel Seniors. Dominic is predeceased by his wife, Cecilia (Gingras) Bagnato whom he married on October 22nd, 1944. He is also predeceased by his brother, Mario Bagnato. Survivors include, Dominic’s sons, Dion L. Bagnato (Samantha) and Gary D. Bagnato (Amanda), his grandchildren, Stefan A. Bagnato (Tracy), Katy E. Randall (Zac) and Jarem L. Bagnato, as well as his great granddaughter, Giuliana. He is also survived by his sister, Helen DiCarlo. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, August 1st from 5-7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. in Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin Thursday morning at 10:15am at the funeral home and will be followed by a funeral mass at 11am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Pleasant St., Schenectady. Interment will take place at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
