Domenica Santabarbara

Schenectady, NY – Domenica Santabarbara, 86, passed away on Tuesday, November 19th, 2019. Born in Piana di Monte Verna, Italy on December 3rd, 1932, Domenica was the daughter of the late Tommaso Santabarbara and Antonia D’Agostino. Domenica’s world revolved around her family. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and would light up whenever a baby was near. She was the feisty matriarch of her family and always made sure everyone’s ducks were in a row. Domenica spent over 61 years with her late husband, Pasquale Coppola who passed away in 2015. She was also predeceased by her son, Antonio Coppola, daughter in law, Rita Ponsillo, son in law, Giovanni Mancino and her sister, Paolina Santabarbara. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Giuseppina Mancino, her grandchildren, Pasquale, Domenico, Francesco, Berardino, Maria Antonietta, Tommaso and their spouses and her 7 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Sunday, from 12-2pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue in Rotterdam. A prayer service will follow, beginning at 2pm. Her ashes will be entombed in Italy.
