Domenica "Mimi" Campagnano

ROTTERDAM - Domenica “Mimi” Campagnano, 91, was born in Palermo Italy on April 11, 1932, to the late Giuseppe and Cristina D’Angelo. Mimi passed away on Tuesday January 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  Mimi was the 6th of 10 children. As a teenager, she apprenticed with a tailor and later earned the title of Master Seamstress and Tailor. On March 23, 1963 she married her husband Mattia Campagnano.  In 1970 Mimi, along with her husband and four children, immigrated to the USA and settled in Rotterdam, NY where she began a home-based business doing alterations. One of her favorite sewing projects was making uniforms for the Draper High School cheerleaders. Mimi was well known for her sewing expertise by many of the Draper School staff.

Mimi took great pride in cooking delicious meals for her family and friends, but her greatest joy was loving and caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mimi enjoyed the beach, Italian music, shopping, reading, and playing games. She loved God and was dedicated to her church, Abounding Grace. Mimi was much loved and made friends everywhere she went.

Mimi is survived by her husband Mattia, her children Genny (Greg) Ehrgott of Colonie, Silvana (Jeffrey) Hebert of Rexford, Tiziana (Michael) Scala of Greensboro, NC, and Angelo (Maryann) Campagnano of Rotterdam, nine grandchildren Luke (Alba) Ehrgott, Anthony Scala, Katrina Ehrgott, Gabriella Scala, Giuliano Scala, Clairice Hebert, Mattia Campagnano, Colette Hebert, Liliana Campagnano, and two great-grandchildren, Jobe Ehrgott and Eve Ehrgott.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at Abounding Grace Christian Church, 3060 Hamburg St, Schenectady, NY 12303, immediately followed by a service at Abounding Grace Christian Church at 11:00am, and burial at Schenectady Memorial Park, 566 Giffords Church Rd, Schenectady NY 12306.
