Domenic A. Tebano

December 30, 1945 — September 10, 2023

DOMENIC TEBANO Rotterdam – Domenic A. Tebano, 77, went to be with the Lord in the comfort of his own home on Sunday, September 10, 2023, with his devoted family by his side. Born in the town of Squille, Italy on Sunday, December 30, 1945, he lived his entire life dedicated to his family. It was for them he valiantly battled cancer until his last breath. Domenic was the first-born son of Anna Tebano (Tariello) and the late Attilio Tebano; they settled in the United States in March of 1955 to enhance life for the family. In 1965, he graduated from Bishop Gibbons. On a trip back to Italy in 1971, Domenic met and married the love of his life, Maria Palma Tebano (Campagnano). As one, they established a foundation for their family that will continue to be built upon for years to come. Accompanied by their children and grandchildren, Domenic and Maria celebrated 52 years of marriage on August 28th. Domenic is survived by his loving, faithful wife, Maria, and his three children, Attilio (Cheryl) Tebano, Annalisa (Robert) Schraa, and Dino (Makayla) Tebano. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren—Tiana, Domenic, Andrew, Aiden, Damian, Milania, Ashton, Lola, Diona, and Viviana—who will all miss their “Poppy Dom” tremendously. He is also survived by his mother, Anna, brother, Tony (Novella) Tebano, and his sister, Maria (Gennaro) Sgueglia, along with his mother-in-law, Maria Campagnano, sisters-in-law, Immacolata and Pia Campagnano, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Domenic’s life and legacy, his joy and passion, was always about his family. Whether it was sports, school, or other interests and accomplishments they had, he was always there and excited to support, coach, and encourage. Dom and Maria operated Dom’s Fried Dough & Pizza concessions for over 40 years. It was there that relationships were formed, and many memories were created. Laughter was constant with Dom’s infectious smile and humor. “Big Dom” was a great, loyal friend to so many people near and far. There are no words to describe how admired Domenic was and always will be, not only by his family, but an abundance of others that got to experience his presence. The name Domenic means “of the Lord.” To all who had the privilege of knowing him, understand this was perfectly suited; he was one in a million, truly a gift of the Lord. Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 4pm-7pm at Demarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam, NY. A private burial will be held at a later date.
