Dolores N. Perkins, 79, of Schenectady died peacefully at Ellis Hospital with her loving family by her side on Monday, May 6, 2013. Dolores was a lifetime Schenectady resident and advocate who always wanted the city to progress. She graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1951. From there she went on to marry her beloved husband Lawrence Perkins and had two sons. She was a very proud stay-at-home mother and later went on to cook and waitress for Devito's restaurant. As her boys grew older, Dolores was involved with Belmont Pop Warner Football, Little League and Babe Ruth. She loved having a house full of company and was an amazing cook and hostess. Her husband, family and good friends were her main priority and joy in life. She never missed an Italian festival, recital, play, birthday party, religious or sporting event or any other activity including her family. Dolores adored going to a Johnny Mathis concert and was an avid Yankee fan. She loved going to the Jersey Ocean each summer, was very religious and made sure to go to mass each week. Her laugh was infectious and her stories and sweet nature will go unforgotten by many. Dolores was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Grace Ciasullo and her sister Jenny. Dolores is survived by her husband Lawrence of 61 years, herson Lawrence Perkins, grandchildren Anthony and Nicholas Perkins,her son Mark Perkins (Janet), grandchildren Valerie Gioeli (Joshua), Christopher Perkins (Theresa), Michael Perkins, great grandson Tristan Perkins-Mesec;her brother Robert Ciasullo andher sister Connie Hiller. A Mass of Christian Burial Will be celebrated at 9am on Friday May 10 ,2013 at St Joseph's Church Schenectady The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Ellis Hospital ICU for all of their hard work and tender admiration. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
