Dolores V. (Gurzenski) Morrett died suddenly on October 7th, 2026, while celebrating her 94th birthday. Born on October 7th, 1932, in Schenectady, NY, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Jane (Bruzdzinski) Guyer.
Dolores married Leibert Morrett, on July 4th, 1953, and the two spent 49 wonderful years together, until his passing in 2003. She was a loving homemaker to her family and always remained very independent throughout her life. In her free time, she greatly enjoyed sewing, watching soap operas, listening to music, cooking, and reading paperback books, particularly romance novels. Dolores also found joy while watching the various wildlife visit her home from right outside her back sliding glass doors. She especially loved the squirrels and birds that passed by, and even went out of her way to feed the squirrels when she could.
Dolores is survived by her daughter, Michele Morrett; her son, Michael (Lois) Morrett; her two grandchildren, Cheryl (John) Dalrymple and Eric Morrett; and her niece and nephew.
She was predeceased by her son, Mark Morrett and her sister, Joan Laniewski.
Services for Dolores will be held privately for the family.
