Rotterdam, NY. Dolores G. Jackey age 91, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 15, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Brooklyn NY, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Grace (Fanciullo) Simonelli.
She attended Grover Cleveland High School in Brooklyn, NY. As a young woman she worked for Lord & Taylor in NYC. She later devoted her life to being a loving Wife and Mother. Dolores loved animals including her two cats, she enjoyed playing bingo, cards and crocheting. She was a member of the Woman’s Club at St. Madeline Sophie Church for many years and the Rotterdam District #2 Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for over 60 years.
In April of 1955 she married the love of her life Eugene at St. Brigid’s Church in Brooklyn. They just celebrated 70 years of marriage.
Dolores is survived by her loving husband of 70 years Eugene Jackey Sr., her four children; Philip (Rita) Jackey; Eugene Jackey Jr. and his companion Beth; Edward (Renee) Jackey and Joyce (Tim) Stah. She is survived by 7 Grandchildren and 8 great Grandchildren that she loved dearly. She is survived by one brother William Simonelli and a sister Anne Coghill. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Calling hours will be held at the Demarco Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam on Monday May 19, 2025 from 4-7pm a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday May 20, 2025 at 10:30am at St. Madeline Sophie Church, Burial to follow at St. Cyril Cemetery.
Donations may be made in her name to Community Hospice of Schenectady 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 and the Rotterdam District #2 Fire Department, 1400 Curry Road Schenectady, NY 12306.
