Dolores G Demarco

Schenectady-Mrs. Dolores G. DeMarco, age 98, a lifelong resident of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 20, 2023 at the Home of the Good Shepherd, Wilton NY, where she resided for the last seven years. Born in Schenectady on June 19, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Caroline (Nastars) Fernandez. She was educated in the Schenectady schools. She was united in marriage with Louis DeMarco who preceded her in death on March 12, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Vincent Fernandez. Dolores was last employed as a typist with General Electric, Schenectady where she worked for over 30 years. She was of the Catholic Faith and a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church, where she often volunteered for the annual Festa. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband “Louie”. Her favorite destination was Hawaii. Survivors include her loving son, Robert DeMarco and wife Linda of Gansevoort; and cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth Lis (Brandon) and Rebecca Phillips (Matt). She is also survived by her cherished great grandchildren, Ethan and Madelyn Lis, Kaelyn and Cassidy Phillips, as well as many nieces and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 9- 10:15am. The funeral will commence at 10:30 on Wednesday from the funeral home where a prayer will be offered and at 11am from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant St., Schenectady whereher Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Procession will follow to St. Cyril and Method Cemetery, Rotterdam where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
