Dolores Angela (Guerra) Clark

Dolores "Dee" A. (Guerra) Clark was peacefully called to heaven on September 11, 2014, at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, after a brief battle with cancer.She was born on August 11, 1937 in Schenectady, NY and spent over 77 years making people smile. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1955 with Honors and went to work at the Army Depot in Schenectady.She also worked for the New York Telephone Company and New York State Department of Transportation.Her favorite jobs, which she excelled at, were to be a stay at home Mom and "Grandee" to her six grandchildren. Dolores married Robert H. Clark in 1955 in Schenectady, NY.They were happily married for over 25 years until his death in 1981.Dolores was a devoted catholic, member of St. Madeleine Sophie Parish in Guilderland and the GE Woman's Club.She was also a member of a very special women's group known as the DDIP Club that started in 10th Grade with 10 members.Over the past 62 years, the Club has grown to currently include 21 members and still meets once a month. Dolores never let any grass grow under her feet and identified herself with the Disney Character, Goofy.Always wanting to make people smile and laugh.She enjoyed SHOPPING, travel, golf, bocce ball, and oil painting.She was well known for her yummy chocolate chip cookies and whimsical frog collection. Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Anna Guerra, sons, Robert M. and Daniel J. Dolores is survived by her daughter, Kathy McClary (Joe Sicilia) of Glenville; her son, Michael (Gail) Clark of Portsmouth, NH; her brother, Michael (Cecelia) Guerra of Glenville; grandchildren Ashley McClary, Michael, Lauren, Nicole, Anna & Ryan Clark; her nephew, Michael Guerra; and her niece, Deanna (Joe) Ruggiero. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Rd., Schenectady, NY 12303.A calling period will be held prior to the Mass on Tuesday from 9- 10:45 a. m at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Schenectady NY 12306.Burial will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dolores to The Community Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. The family would like to thank all the caregivers at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's for their kind and compassionate care given to Dolores.
