Guilderland - Dianne Alice Bohanske-Ravella (nee Diehl), age 60, of Guilderland, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, August 20, 2022 in Schenectady, NY. She was born on December 27, 1961 in Marysville, Ohio to parents Frank and Nancy Diehl. A loving wife, she is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Jeff Ravella. Dianne joined the US Army upon graduating from Marysville High School in 1980 and retired as an Administrative NCO with 15 years of service. She took great pride in her work especially during her unit’s activation in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks in NYC. Dianne went on to work at the New York State Nurses Association and Make-A-Wish Foundation, which gave her a great sense of purpose. Along the way, she earned an Associate’s Degree in computer programming and system design from the American Business & Technology University. She has also been a constant support system for her husband’s business, Ravella Construction. Anyone who knows Dianne knows she cherished spending time with her family. This is especially true regarding her grandchildren. She found her greatest joy in life when she became “Nana.” She was grateful for the time she was able to spend with her family in Ohio, as well. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, and sister. In addition to spending time with her family she was also known to enjoy spending time with her countless friends. This included traveling and even just lounging poolside. She also loved shopping and making reservations. Fiercely loyal, caring, and fun-loving, Dianne was very social and beloved by many. She had a great sense of humor and appreciated that in others. She could take a joke, but she could also dish one out. She was the glue that brought many people together who otherwise might not have crossed paths. When she wasn’t living it up, she could be found relaxing at home with Jeff and the dogs Bella, Mickey, Precious, Cocoa, and Jojo. One thing is for sure, “Di” will be missed. In addition to her husband Jeff, Dianne is survived by her siblings David (Carole) Diehl, Debbie (Phil) Present, Jeff (Maureen) Diehl, Doug (Laura) Diehl, Margo (Walter) Mahoski, and Joseph Ravella, Jr., children Tonia Bohanske, Anthony Bohanske, Geena (Nick) Larson, and Nicole (Ben) Hoffman, and grandchildren Riley, Ciara, and Isabella Derenzo, Reghan Kea, and Elizabeth Hoffman. She was a beloved niece, cousin, and aunt (“Dini”) to her surviving aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dianne was predeceased by her loving in-laws Joe and Judy Ravella, and also by her former in-laws Dick and June Bohanske. Calling hours will be Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 5 pm to 8 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Schenectady, NY 12306.
