Rotterdam - On Monday, August 30, 2021, Diane M. Sardynski Dattorre, passed peacefully at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush. Diane was born in Niskayuna and graduated from Mohonasen High School in 1974. She received her associates degree from HVCC and was employed for over 30 yrs with the New York State Dept. of Health, most recently as a supervisor with the WIC program. Diane loved to bake, and for a short time operated a small sweet’s business out of her home. Her love of baking led her to attend the SCCC Culinary program simply for the enjoyment she derived out of it. She also enjoyed vegetable gardening,kayaking, spending time in theAdirondacks, and working security at SPAC with her longtime companion Jeff. More than anything Diane loved being “Grammie D” and spending time with her grandson Connor. Diane was predeceased by her father, Frank Sardynski who passed in June of 2012. She is survived by her mother, Wanda Sardynski, two loving sons, Bryan (Jennifer) Cross and Andrew (Jolie) Cross, her companion of 17 yrs, Jeff Williams, two brothers, Michael (Tina) Sardynski and Gary (Valerie) Sardynski and two beloved grandchildren, Connor Cross and Abigail Cross. CALLING HOURS WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2021 FROM 6-8 PM AT THE DEMARCO-STONE FUNERAL HOME, 1605 HELDERBERG AVE. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BEGIN ON MONDAY, 9:15 AM FROM THE FUNERALHOME FOLLOWED AT 10 AM BY A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL AT THE CHURCH OF ST, ADALBERT. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Diane’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org., or to the St. Adalbert Restoration Fund, 550 Lansing St. Schenectady, NY 12303. Diane’s family would like to thank Dr. Susan Weaver and the staff at AMC Neurology Group as well as the staff at Evergreen Commons for the compassion and care they offered Diane and her family.
