Diane Donato Brunt

Rotterdam- Diane (Donato) Brunt, 57, passed away peacefully, Friday January 31, 2014, following a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Schenectady on February 19, 1956 to parents, Joseph and Ann Donato, Diane was a graduate of Mohonasen High School. She worked at her parent's bowling center, Sportsman's Bowl for many years. Following graduation, she worked at GE. Diane married her best friend, Paul W. Brunt, of Scotia, in 1979 and in 1983 left the work force to raise their daughter, Jennifer. She went on to become a beloved cafeteria lady and more recently worked as a Bus Aide for Special Education students. Diane was a lover of all animals and children. She was especially blessed by the birth of her granddaughter, Charlotte Diane, last March. She is survived by her husband, Paul; daughter, Jennifer; granddaughter, Charlotte; beloved dog, Manning; mother, Ann Donato; brother, Thomas Donato, sister, Catherine Vitek; sister-in-law, Cheryl Donato; aunt, Theresa Cassella; nieces and nephews, Joel (Greta) Donato, Thomas Donato, Sarah (Scott) Hall, Annamarie Vitek and several cousins and great-nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father, Joseph Donato and her uncle, Nicholas Donato. All are invited to a calling period beginning at 10am to be held Wednesday, February 5, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 1260 Pleasant St. Schenectady, immediately followed by an 11amMass of Christian Burial at the church. Entombment will be private in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Diane's family gives many thanks to the staff at NYOH Rexford.
