Diana Englehart (née Barber), lovingly known as Diann, passed away peacefully at her home in Rotterdam, New York, on January 28, 2026, at the age of 81. She was born on October 7, 1944, the daughter of Kenneth and Antoinette (Corbo) Barber.
Diann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was marked by dedication, resilience, and a deep love for her family. She graduated from Union College with a bachelor’s degree in economics. Alongside her husband, Albert Englehart, she proudly owned and operated Mechanical Testing, Inc. of Schenectady, New York, building not only a successful business but a life grounded in hard work and partnership. Together, they shared a love of travel, exploring many countries around the world. After retiring, Diann continued her lifelong love of learning—she was an avid reader and generously volunteered her time preparing tax returns for those in need in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Family meant everything to Diann. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth “Skip” Barber, Jr., and her sister, Sandra Hugo. She is survived by her beloved husband, Albert Englehart, and their children: Kimberly Tupper (Ron) of Cape May, New Jersey; Tamara Wilson of Carlisle, New York; Scott Wilson (Katelyn Rohr) of Delanson, New York; and Alina Bobar (Bryan) of Bedford, New Hampshire.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Lauren Lovett (Riley), Aaron Tupper, Tristan Bachorik, Aidan Bachorik, Dakota Wilson (Samantha Crabill), Sophia Wilson, Jacob Bobar, and Alexandra Bobar. Diann found immense joy in her grandchildren, cherishing time spent with them and celebrating each of their lives and accomplishments.
Diann will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the quiet, steadfast way she showed her love—always present, always caring, and always putting her family first. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she held so close.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Demarco - Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Schenectady, NY 12306, with the Rev. John Califano officiating.
