Rotterdam - Devin R. Hartman, 30, passed away September 21, 2020 due to an automobile accident in North Myrtle Beach, SC. Devin was born in Niskayuna, NY on March 10, 1980. He was the loving son of Glenn and Carmela Hartman. He was a graduate of Schalmont High School Class of 2008. Beginning at the age of 16 he started working at a restaurant and found he had a gift for cooking. This led him to various restaurants in the area such as Roman Villa, Tops Diner, and Armondo's among others. Moving to North Myrtle Beach in 2016 he worked as Asst. Kitchen Manager at Hickory Tavern. Devin had a love for football and started playing at age 7 on a Rotterdam Pop Warner team playing every year up to Junior Varsity and Varsity team at Schalmont. He was a big Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox fan at the displeasure of his dad. He enjoyed outside activities such as kayaking,swimming, going to concerts but most of all spending time with friends. Devin was a free spirit following his own path, living life on his own terms. His light, his beautiful smile, his acts of kindness will never be forgotten and forevercherished by all of us lucky enough to know and love him. He is predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Russell P. Hartman and maternal grandparents, Andrew A. and Susan M. Maffeo. He is survived by his parents,brother Andrew, his paternal grandmother Jean E. Hartman, aunts and uncles Andrea and Dean Pence, Gayle Leary, Cheryl and Peter LaCagnina and cousins Joshua, Jake, Kevin, and Peter. Callings hours will be held Tuesday, June 29 from 4 to 7 at DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam.
