Denyse Gray, of Albany, NY passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022. She was born on February 15, 1934, in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada and was the daughter of the late Leon and Antoinette Gignac. Denyse married William Gray of Brooklyn, NY on October 5, 1959, in Quebec City. They made their home in Brooklyn, then later in Port Jefferson Station, NY, where they lived for 24 years raising their family. They relocated to Albany in 1994. Denyse was a friendly and caring person, who always had time for a conversation. Her beautiful smile and welcoming nature drew people to her. Generous and humble, she was a wonderful example of a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Denyse was a very loving and giving person whose greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was so proud of all her grandchildren and was a very special Nana to them. Denyse will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Denyse was predeceased by her sisters Genevieve Levesque and Suzanne Bussières, and her brothers Louis and Guy Gignac. She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, William Gray, and three loving children William (Ann Marie) Gray, Maureen (Bill) Heiberger, and Kathleen (Randall) Morreale. She was a cherished Nana to six grandchildren, Katie, Billy and Allie Heiberger, Emily and Jim Gray, and Jack Morreale. She is also survived by her loving sister, Solange Paquet, of Quebec City, in addition to many extended family members. Calling hours will be held Monday, December 19 from 5-7pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home at 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam, NY. Funeral services and burial will be held at Saratoga National Cemetery on Tuesday, December 20 at 2pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Autism Speaks.
