Dennis Michael Aldershoff

Schenectady - Dennis Michael Aldershoff, 68, passed away peacefully under the compassionate care of doctors and staff at the Westchester Medical Center on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Dennis was born in Schenectady, NY to the late Henry F. and Evelyn (Stahl) Aldershoff. He is also predeceased by his brother, David Bruce Aldershoff. Dennis is survived by his sister and best friend, Bonnie (Michael) Marette. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Barbara Aldershoff; niece Meghan (Joshua)Newell; nephew Kevin (Stevee) Aldershoff with great niece Marley; and several cousins. He graduated from Draper High School and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Dennis was a talented carpenter and had a gift for calligraphy. His dad nicknamed him Pede and his sister (1 year his junior) Chich. Throughout their childhood and teenage years they were always together; singing in the church choir, bowling, roller skating, skiing, or "dancing up a storm" at local establishments. As an adult, Dennis found spiritual inspiration, purpose and personal gratification at the Schenectady City Mission, through the support and friendship of Mike Saccocio, Executive Director. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
