Deborah E (Mccabe) Boniewski

October 31, 1950 — June 1, 2018

Rotterdam - DeborahE.Boniewski, 67, beloved wife, mother and nana, passed away on June 1, 2018 after a short but courageous fight with esophageal cancer, surrounded by her family. Deb was born and raised in Schenectady, NY and graduated from Linton High School in 1968. She was employed by GE for 17 years, then as an aide at Pinewood Elementary School for 21 years until retirement. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Chester Boniewski,devoteddaughters Sarah Keppler (Brian), and Kathryn Boniewski and her adored granddaughters Hayley, Allyson and Emma Keppler. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Ernie Busta (Suzanne), Tadeusz Boniewski (Maureen), AnthonyBoniewski, and Andrew Boniewski (April). Also survived by sisters-in-law Vladia Boniewski (Daniel Vallely), Veronica Bowman (Ferdie), Irene Wickham (Robert) and Fran McCabe, cousin, Patty Miner, nephews, John McCabe (Kristy), Joseph McCabe (late Diane), Mike McCabe (Crystal) and Patrick McCabe (Tiffany), nieces, Cheryl McCabe and Pamela Mickus and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents, John E. and Marion(Miner)McCabe, and her brother, John McCabe of Arizona. Deb was passionate about the Lord and in knowing when she passed she would be with her Father in heaven, and she lived her life with the same passion. Deb was always doing things for others and always giving to people in need. Her zest for life was seen daily by her family and friends, asevidencedbyherlegendary Christmas cookies to the tole painting she enjoyed. Deb wouldn’t hesitate to drop everything to help someone and was very passionate about the City Mission and Alpha Pregnancy. Her legacy will live on and be remembered by all who knew her and will comfort her family and friends as they grieve her passing. Calling hours will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 11 Glenridge Road, Rexford on Wednesday, June 6 from5- 7:30 pm. Services will be held at the Church on Thursday, June 7 at 10 a.m.followed by interment at St. Adalbert’sCemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Schenectady City Mission,425 Hamilton Street, Schenectady, NY 12305or Alpha Pregnancy,967 Albany Street, Schenectady, NY 12307.
