Dean Cafarelli

Rotterdam – Dean Cafarelli, a beloved husband, father, son & brother has passed away suddenly on Friday January 6, 2017 at his home. Dean was born on August 20, 1961 to Dominick Cafarelli & Genevieve Marotta Weekes in Niskayuna, NY. Dean lived most of his life in Rotterdam and was a well known & respected master barber for many years. He was a graduate of Mohonasen High School and Royal Barber School. He worked for many years with his dad at Dom’s Barber Shop. He was currently working at Ed’s Barber Shop on Union St. Dean was a kind and loving man who was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was loved by many. Dean leaves behind his loving wife Lori Cafarelli, his adoring children Anthony, Nico & Gianna Cafarelli who he loved beyond measure. His parents Dom, Jenny & Jim Weekes. His siblings Dominic (Lucia) Cafarelli, David (Cathy) Cafarelli, Tina Weekes & Linda (Kevin) Hulett and many nieces and nephews. His in-laws, Ruth & Dave Ott, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins & many friends. Dean was pre-deceased by his grandparents Carmella & Agostino Cafarelli and Constance & Anthony Marotta. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4-7 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will be held 10 am Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
