David E Stratton

Altamont- Mr. David E. Stratton, age 73, of Altamont, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully in his sleep on Sunday morning, Jan. 22nd, 2023 at the Schenectady Center Home for Nursing and Rehab. David was born on Sept. 12, 1949 in Troy, son of the late Emory and Anna Stratton and graduated from Heatley High School, Green Island. He was united in marriage with Patricia Lukens on Aug. 24, 1985 in Waterford, NY; a loving union of 37 years. David was employed in his younger years for Stewarts, eventually holding the title of District Manager and received many awards during his employment there. He moved on to law enforcement gaining employment with Colonie Police Department and then was employed with local Armored Car Companies. He then went on gaining employment with the Federal Police. His last professional employment was with Nanotech, Albany, where he worked in security. He loved the outdoors and enjoying mother nature. Anything that involved being in the fresh air, he truly loved from hunting to fishing. David will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his beloved family; his wife Patricia at home; his children, David Stratton and wife Laura of Duanesburg and Melissa Smith and husband Mike; grandchildren, Isabelle, Jack and Ada, Samantha and Sara. He was predeceased by his sister, Nancy. Also surviving are his in laws, Linda Primo and Georgette Lukens-Clymer. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Walter Lukens of KY. In keeping with his wishes, there are no calling hours. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a graveside service at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland commencing at 12:30 pm on Thursday, January 26, 2023.
