David L. Spawn, of Guilderland passed away at St. Peters Hospice Inn on Jan. 6, 2015. At the age of 62 he entered into his mother's and father's arms in heaven surrounded by his loving family. David was born in Albany and lived most of his life in the town of Guilderland (Westmere). He graduated from Guilderland High School and, after working in construction, went to work for the Town of Guilderland in water and wastewater management Department retiring as Foreman. David served his community as a firefighter for the Westmere Fire Dept. and retired with a life membership status for his many years of dedication. He spent his life loving camping first with his parents, then with his own family. He also spent the last 19 years loving and spoiling his two granddaughters. He would always do anything for anyone. David married the love of his life, Susan on Jan. 12, 1973 and would have celebrated 42 years together. He was predeceased by his father Leslie in 1989 and his Mother Mary "Jene" in 2014. He is survived by his wife Susan G. (Swanson), his loving daughter April (Emil) Jubrey, his granddaughters Shauna and Cheyenne Jubrey, his brother Garrett (Donna) Spawn, several brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, his 2 Aunts Betty Spawn and Adele Garrett and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Friday, 6-8 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Tpk. (Rt. 20) in Guilderland. A graveside committal service will begin at 11 am on Saturday morning at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
