David Smith Jr

David Smith, Jr., 43, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at Albany Medical Center. Born in Troy, NY, David is the son of Janice Sellie (Lashway) and David Smith, Sr. Dave was an avid outdoorsman and lover of animals. He was a hard worker and dedicated friend. To know him was to love him. He will be missed dearly. Dave is survived by his longtime companion, Sarah Rose and their fur babies, Banjo, Nala and Gemma, his parents who raised him, Janice and Raymond Sellie, his father, David Smith, Sr., his brother, David Rose, Jr. (Brittany), his sister, Jodi Sellie, his in-laws, David Rose, Sr. (Cindy) and Christine Clark, as well as two nephews, Peter Thomas Palmier and Trenton Michael Vogel. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service for Dave will be held on Wednesday, April 13 at 12pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Calling hours will precede the service from 10am-12pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be private at Schenectady Memorial Park. Dave's family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and doctors in the medical ICU at Albany Medical Center for all of their care and compassion.
