David C Messina

Schenectady- David C. Messina, 58,passed away suddenly at Ellis Hospital on March 24, 2013. Born in Jamestown NYhe was son of the late Lory F.andS.Patricia Trusso Messina. He is survived by his wife Sheree Smith Messina, his brother Lory S. Messina of Troy, his sisters Paula and Ralph Landolfo of Scotia and Michele and Anthony Rametta of Reeders PA and his nieces Betsy Gridley (Daniel DelGiacco) of Stillwater and Nia Rametta of Reeders PA. He was a graduate of Mohonasen High School and Hudson Valley Community College. For many years Dave owned and operated an autobody shop in Schenectady and also was a well known coin dealer in the area having recently opened his own coin shop in Queensbury NY. For those who knew him, he will be remembered for hisgreat sense of humor and for never failing to be there for those hecared about. He also loved dogs and had rescued many over the years. The family cannot begin to express theirthanks they have to the Ellis Hospital ER and the Heart Unit doctors and staff who provided excellent care they did.This allowed us a few more precious days with Dave which we would not have had and we are truly grateful. Our thanks also goes out to Dave's longtime friend ,Eric, who has been invaluable to the family during this difficult time. Family and freinds are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam on Saturday March 30, 2013 from 10 am to 11 am. Immediately following Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 11 am. Interment will be private.
