David W. Mceckron

Rotterdam – David W. McEckron, 77, passed away on Thursday, March 9th, 2023.

Born in Schenectady, David was the son of the late Valney McEckron and Viola (Reedy) McEckron.

He was a graduate of Linton High School and honorably served in the US Air Force.

For 35 years, Dave worked at Schenectady International.

He was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Dave constantly put others before himself and was always willing the give his time and energy to those in need.

He enjoyed golf, travelling, Nascar, his Harley and spending time at his camp on Lake George. Above all things though, Dave cherished the time spent with his daughter, Tina and great-granddaughter, Le’na.

Dave was a member of the Rotterdam Eagles, Rotterdam Elks and the Over the Hill Gang.

Left to cherish his memory is his devoted daughter, Tina McEckron; grandchildren, Shannon Moraski and Ryan McEckron and his great-granddaughter and pride and joy, Le’na Mae. He also leaves behind many close friends.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Brien W. McEckron.

A service with military honors will take place on Thursday, July 20th at 1pm the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville. Please arrive at the cemetery gate at 12:45pm.
