David James Loucks Jr.

April 7, 1998 — July 23, 2023

Rotterdam – David James Loucks Jr., 25, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 23, 2023.

Born in Niskayuna, David was the youngest son of David James Loucks Sr. and Yvonne Marie Macherone.

He graduated from Mohonasen High School in 2016 and went on to earn his Associates degree in Advanced Manufacturing from Hudson Valley Community College.

David worked as a machinist at P1 Industries.  Following David’s death, P1 Industries has created the David Loucks Memorial Award—a quarterly award to be given to a team member for exceptionalism in integrity, humility, learning and diligence.

In his younger years, David was big into athletics. His favorite sports being baseball, golf and bowling. Later in life, David enjoyed going to RPI hockey games.

David loved a good car project. He spent a lot of his time (and money) fixing up his vehicles. He also loved music and had a varied taste in tunes, listening to everything from Dean Martin to heavy metal.

David had an amazing sense of humor and comedic timing, always throwing out one-liners at the perfect moments. He could be reserved but around the right people, he could talk forever.

David was also a fantastic uncle who adored his two nieces, Eliana and Wrenley.

He is survived by his parents, David J. Loucks Sr. and Yvonne M. Macherone; his brothers, Matthew Loucks (Renee) and Ryan Loucks (Alicia); paternal grandfather, Harry Loucks; his niece, Eliana Loucks and niece and goddaughter, Wrenley Loucks; aunts and uncles, Michael Loucks (Mary), Mark Loucks (Pam), Steven Macherone, Christine Grossman (John) and Deanna Hess. He also leaves behind several cousins and friends.
