David E Hodgkins

Guilderland- David Earle Hodgkins, 77, passed away peacefully at home on April 6, 2015 surrounded by his beloved family. David was born on December 4, 1937 in Worcester Mass, a son of the late Arthur G. and Frances Seager Hodgkins. He was 1955 graduate of East Providence High School of Rhode Island David was a member of the Rhode Island Civil Air Patrol from 1952 to 1955. In 1955 he joined the United States Airforce and served as a cryptographer in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1962. David continued his education and was a 1973 graduate of Siena College where he earned a BA in Business Administration. Before retiring in 1993 David worked for NY State Tax and Finance, Social Services and NYS Health Department. He was an active member in the Kinderhook and Guilderland Lions Clubs and the Albany Chapter of the AARP and the Red Cross of Albany. David is survived by his loving wife Eileen (Rozner) Hodgkins, three sons Mark, David and Holger all of Albany and one daughter RoseMarie (Christopher) Mattas of Sloansville and his brother George Hodgkins. He is also survived by seven grandchildren Mark Hodgkins Jr ,Rebecca Shufelt, Audrey Hodgkins, Amanda Shufelt, Carol Hodgkins, Nicholas Shufelt, and Carly Hodgkins and his first great grandson Jayden David Brown. Family and friends are invited to calla t the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 5216 Western Turnpike Guilderland on Saturday April April 11 2015 from 10 am to 1 pm. All other services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations maybe made to the American Diabetes Association and or National Parkinson Foundation.
