Rotterdam – David Lynn Hillier, 77, passed away Tuesday August 28, 2018 at the Joan Nicole Prince Home in Scotia. Born in Gloversville he was the son of the late George and Eltha Moran Hillier. From 1959-1963 David served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He then went on to work at the General Electric Co. as a machinist retiring in 1987. Dave was a member of the Stadium Golf Course in Schenectady. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susan Nicklas Hillier. His six children; John (the late Paulette) Hillier of Rotterdam, Christine Hillier of Rotterdam, Robert (Ginny) Hillier of Elgin, SC, Rhoda Olszowy of Rotterdam, Rebecca Hillier of Rotterdam and Joseph (Debra) Hillier of Scotia. Grandchildren; Michael Hillier, Andrew Hillier, Jennifer Olszowy, Jessica Olszowy, Christopher Hillier, Breanna, Christine, DeAnne’. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family extends their special thanks to the C1 nurses at Ellis Hospital, the Joan Nicole Prince Home staff and Dr. DeJesus. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5-7pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Military honors will immediately follow at 7 pm. Burial at Saratoga National Cemetery will be at a later date.
