David R Gapczynski

Rotterdam, NY- Mr. David R. Gapczynski, age 74, of 18 Bertone Dr., passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Sunday evening, August 2, 2015 following a long illness. He was born on September 23, 1940, in Schenectady, son of the late Chester and Sadie (Barczak) Gapczynski and attended Nott Terrace High School.He was united in marriage on August 21, 1960 with Karen A. Wilsey at St. John the Baptist Church, Schenectady.The couple has shared a blessed union of 54 years.Mr. Gapczynski was the owner and operator of United Auto Clinic Body Shop for many years, a business his children now operate. Survivors include his wife Karen, at home; his children, Donald(Jill) Gapczynski of Duanesburg, David (Tracell) Gapczynski Jr. of Scotia; and Deborah (Robert) Coppolo of Rotterdam, grandchildren, Ryan (Wendy), Troy, Sydni, Jesse, Jaelyn, Michele and Eddie; brothers, Chester (Doreen) Gapczynski, William (Laura) Gapczynski and James (Regina) Gapczynski; brother in law David (Judi) Wilsey; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.He was preceded in death by a brother Richard Gapczynski. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 10 am until 12 noon and also invited to his funeral service commencing at the DeMarco-Stone chapel also on Thursday at 12 noon.The Rev.
