David B Aldershoff

September 11, 1946 — February 2, 2017

Rotterdam - David Bruce Aldershoff, 70, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 2, 2017. Dave was born in Schenectady, NY to the late Henry F. and Evelyn (Stahl) Aldershoff. He graduated from Draper High School and Hudson Valley Community College. He was a 13 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from the U. S. Postal Service after many years of service. Dave enjoyed golfing, wood working, traveling with his wife Barbara, and helping neighbors with yard work. He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen (Parillo) Aldershoff and was a devoted father to their two children, Meghan (Joshua) Newell and Kevin Aldershoff. Dave took great pride in his children and his greatest pleasures came from visiting his daughter in California and helping his son remodel his house. Dave is survived by his wife of 15 years, Barbara Aldershoff. He is also survived by his stepson Jimmy (Maria) Burton and Dawn (Kyle) Koch along with four step grandchildren: Aaron, Taylor, Adam, and Brendan. He is also survived by his brother, Dennis, and sister Bonnie (Michael) Marette. The wake will be held Tuesday, February 7 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:00AM at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home with a procession to Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery for burial with military honors. Special thanks to Schenectady Hospice for easing Dave’s passing at this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Schenectady Hospice 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
