Daren Shawn Russell

Schenectady, NY-Daren Shawn Russell, age 48, of Guilderland Avenue, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady. He was born on January 27, 1967 in Schenectady, son of the late Darrell Russell and Carolee J. (Clune) Russell of Schenectady.Daren was educated in local schools graduating from Mont Pleasant High School and his last professional employment was with Adirondack Cabling Inc. where he was a project manager. Survivors include his loving family who were very close to him; his mother, Carolee; a sister, Jerilyn Denofio and husband Ralph of Mariaville; nephews, Darren Denofio and Christopher Denofio; step mother, Marjorie Russell and step brother, Danny Langois and wife Cheryl; dear friends, Jack Hawkey and wife Gina; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Daren was an avid New England Patriots Fan and attended their home games regularly. Daren loved the outdoors and camping. He not only had a passion for spectator sports he also enjoyed participating insports which included golf and skiing. He was an excellent cook and loved cooking for his family especially on Mothers Day and Easter. One of his greatest loves was his love for his nephews, Darren and Christopher. He also leaves behind his beloved cat Alaska.Daren's family would like to extend a note of gratitude to all the staff of Ellis Hospital for their care of Daren and especially the staff of the E1 Intensive Care Unit. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 5-8 p.m.Daren's funeral will commence at 11 am on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from the chapel of DeMarco Stone Funeral Home.Procession will then follow to Evergreen Cemetery, Colonie where he will be laid to rest.
