Mariaville - Danny Milton Winner of Mariaville, New York passed away on October 14th, 2022 after a brief stay at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. He was born August 11th, 1963 in Schenectady to Harry B. and Ardene V. of Mariaville. He was 59 years old. Danny was a lifelong resident of New York and spent most of his days on the shores of Mariaville Lake. He was a hard worker and worked in construction for most of his life. He took pride in the work he did. Danny was mostly a quiet man, but he had the best sense of humor and a laugh and smile that could light up a room. He could turn anything into a joke and any frown into a smile. You were not without a friend if Danny was around. His kind, generous heart and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew him. He loved fishing; he spent many days fighting with the bass in Mariaville Lake. Most times, the bass would win, but Danny persisted. In the end, I think their fish tales ended up pretty evenly stacked. Cooking was a passion of his and, if you were in his kitchen, you would never leave hungry. However, if he was standing at a grill, he was probably getting ready to serve you his famous hockey puck hamburgers. Over-cooked with lots of love. Spending time with family, playing with his grandsons, listening to classic rock music, telling jokes, and having a good time were some of his favorite past times. He also had a special soft spot for animals. He loved his 2 dogs, Kira and Koda, who predeceased him, as if they were his own children. He will be missed fiercely by those left behind who loved him so dearly. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Ardene Winner, his sisters Janet Nicol, Ruth Lansing, Harriet Barton, and Ruby Crandall, and brothers Donald Murray and Russell Winner. He is survived by his only child, his loving daughter, Deanna Marie (Matthew) Wallace, brothers Randy Winner, Ronnie Winner, Niles (Butch) Winner, Harry Winner Jr., and sisters Carol Winner, Linda Tidball, Pauline Edwards, Kathleen Lintz, Thelma Salisbury, Nancy Haley, Ruby Morrell, and Donna Abbott. He is also survived by his grandsons, Aaron Winner, Jacob Garner, and Wyatt Garner, whom he loved dearly, as well as Edward Wallace, whom he had regrettably not yet had the chance to meet in person. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Danny also had a special companionship with Debra Hillary during the last year of his life. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 am to 11 am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 11 am.
