Daniel J Sullivan Jr

Schenectady- Daniel J. Sullivan Jr, 80, passed away peacefully at Glendale Nursing Home on Thursday September 24, 2015. Dan was born on January 20, 1935 in Medford Mass a son of the late Daniel Sr. and Helen Walthers Sullivan. He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1963 receiving an honorable discharge. Dan was employed with GE Research and Development of Niskayuna for 31 years retiring in 2005. Dan married his beloved wife Louise on May 14, 1977. He greatly enjoyed scuba diving, tennis, hunting, fishing and traveling through the US and Europe and was member of the Whitney Club of GE. He is survived by his wife Louise, his son Robert M. Sullivan of Brandenburg KY ,his daughter Kim (Michael) Gasparyand his grandchildren Michala and Alex all of Malta and Sterling Sullivan of OK his brother Thomas (Carol) Sullivan of Lake George NY andhisnephews Boyd, John, Ryan andScottSullivan He will be missed by his cats Ali, Max and Sophie. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the unit members of the Pines Plains "neighborhood" at Glendale and particularly to staff caregivers Karen, Flo, and Dawn for their unwavering and selfless devotion to Dan and his family. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam on Thursday October 1, 2015 from 9am to 11 am. Immediately following funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 11 am.Interment will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville NY at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations maybe made to the Animal Protective Foundation Schenectady.
