Scotia- Daniel A. Keenan, 81, at rest Saturday, March 14, 2015. Dan was born in Schenectady, the son of the late Eunice Campbell Gerardi and Joseph J. DeSarbo and step son of Marco Gerardi. Dan attended Nott Terrace High School, and soon after joined the United States Navy, serving aboard the USS Hailey from 1951 to 1955. Upon his discharge from the service he was employed for 38 years with F.W. Woolworth in Schenectady. Dan was the beloved husband of 59 years to Joan Chisholm Keenan; beloved father of Linda (David) Gannon, Diana (Bradley) Bebernitz, Daniel (JoAnn) Keenan Jr and Beverly Keenan; all of Scotia; loving grandfather of Sarah, Andrew, Nicole, Matthew, Melissa and Brett; doting great grandfather of Kurtis, Siobhan, Tyler, Zoe and James; beloved brother of Raymond (Katie) DeSarbo, Paul (Linda) De Sarbo, Bruce (Phyllis) DeSarbo and Diane (Mike) Pollock and the late Douglas, William, Joseph, Henry and Art, Margaret and Joan. Dan is also survived by his step-mother Marge DeSarbo as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. A calling period will be held Wednesday, March 18 from 5 to 7 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7pm. At a later date, Dan will be interred with military honors in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
