Daniel F. Horning

Daniel F. Horning, 91, passed away peacefully at his home on August 18, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. 

Dan was born in McKinley, NY. Upon graduation from Canajoharie High School, Dan studied at Mohawk Valley Community College, where he received an associate’s degree in business. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army. 

Dan had a long and distinguished career in both automobile and real estate sales. He received numerous awards and accolades during his career. Most importantly to Dan he was a mentor to many both during and post his professional life. 

Dan’s life was guided by his belief and acceptance of his lord and savior Jesus Christ. He showed this faith in action in his everyday life. His kindness towards strangers, his unconditional love towards family and friends. He would always selflessly credit his unwavering strength in times of adversity to his faith. This example will live on with all of us who loved him so dearly and watched him fight so bravely. 

He is predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters, as well as his mother and father. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Donna (Albers); children, Kimberly Horning, Daniel T. Horning, Michelle (Christopher) Cooney, and David (Ann) Horning; grandchildren, Kalicia (Cornelius) Hepburn, David (Kerry) Suski, Sean (Taylor) Cooney, and Jacob (Audrey) Cooney; great-grandchildren, Ayana and Azara Hepburn; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Dan was laid to rest in a private ceremony attended by immediate family.
