Dana M (Sgarlata) Romano

Schenectady- Dana M. Romano, 58, passed away on November 19, 2015 at Ellis Hospital after a valiant and courageous5 year battle with breast cancer. Dana was born on January 3, 1957 a daughter of Anthony B.and Marie A. Sgarlata. Dana graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and was an Executive Assistantfor the New York State Department of Tax and Finance. Her favorite activity wasto watch her son Joseph play lacrosse. Dana was an integral part of the Shehendehowa High School and the U Mass Amherst Lacrosse families. She loved going out to lunch with her closes friends as well her beloved Mom Marie. Dana was a homebody at heart.She will be missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her father Anthonyon September26, 2011. Dana is survivedby her husband of 22 years and the love of her life Joseph Romano lll and their son Joseph A. Romano IV, her mother Marie A Sgarlata , her brother Mark A Sgarlata, nephew Brandon, mother in law Joan Romano, sister in law Debra Tirrito, nieces Nicole and Michelle ,nephew Vittorio, sister in law Wendy (Kevin) Koktowski, niece Kristen and nephew Nikolas ,sister in law Shari (Rich) Schubert, nieces Kirsten and Lindsay.And many additional family and friends too many to count. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral HomeInc 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam on Sunday November 22, 2015 from2 pm to 4 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday November 23 ,2015 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church Princetown Rd Rotterdam at 11 am. Interment will be at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery Troy Niskayuna Rd Schenectady. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Foundation.
