Rotterdam- Cindy Bouck of Rotterdam, New York, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 due to complications from Alzheimer’s Disease. Born January 8, 1939, in Amsterdam, New York to the late Anthony Matthews and Irene Matthews, she was the second of three children. In 1960, she married the late Bruce Bouck of Schenectady, who was a longtime teacher and coach at Schalmont High School. She is survived by three children: Brian Bouck and wife Lisa Bouck of Alpharetta, Georgia; Sharon Gagliardi and husband Joe Gagliardi of Mechanicville, New York, and Bruce Bouck and wife Janice Bouck of Mansfield, Massachusetts. Cindy also leaves behind ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. After raising her children, in 1975, she began her career at Union College, serving in various administrative roles until her retirement in 2007. Cindy was a devoted and dedicated wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and mentor. She was a model of loving strength and independence to her family and her work ethic was unmatched. She greatly enjoyed attending her family’s many sporting events and always cheered heartily from the sidelines. A devout Catholic, she had a very strong faith in God and enjoyed her travels including visits to see her grandchildren, a road trip across the United States, and trips to Alaska and Europe. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A visitation will be held at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam on Tuesday, August 10 from 5 to 7 P.M. Cindy’s funeral service will begin on Wednesday, August 11 at 9:45 A.M. at the funeral home with a funeral mass to follow at 10:30 A.M. at Saint Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 3040 Hamburg St., Schenectady, New York 12303. Interment will follow at Viewland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Cindy’s name to The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement at https://thewomensalzheimersmovement.org.
