Cora Jean (Hay) Rapsard

Cora Jean "CJ" Rapsard, 87, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 14th at her home.Born in N. Tonawanda, October 3, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth R. Hay and Vivian Hay.CJ was married to the love of her life, the late Kenneth J. Rapsard, for 55 years.They were married June 16, 1951 in Tonawanda, NY and later moved to Guilderland, NY in 1964.CJ is survived by her 5 children Sharon (Neil) Waldbillig of Ballston Lake, NY,Steve (Nancy) Rapsard of Latham, NY, Patty Busa of Rotterdam,Carol Phillips of Guilderland, NY, and Larry (Pam) Rapsard of Ohio, her sister Anita (Arnold) Lachner of Kerrville, TX., 11 grandchildren and 1 long awaited great-grandchild. CJ and Ken were foster parents for 20 years with Community Maternity Services, caring for over 50 infants.CJ was also an avid and talented porcelain painter, belonging to the World Organization of China Painters.She served for many years in the organization in the local, state and world capacity lastly, as the WOCP World President in 2005. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Madeline Sophie Church on Friday, June 17th at 10am.There will be no calling hours.CJ asked in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association at heart.org, or the American Cancer Society at cancer.org Entombment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands. CJ was a great mother, and a wonderful friend to many.She will be missed by us all.Rest in peace, Mom.Love you bunches.
