Constance J (Palmer) Kubes

Rotterdam - Constance J. (Palmer) Kubes of Rotterdam, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her daughters home in Glenville on Thursday, February 2, 2023. Born on October 5, 1936, she was one of five children of the late Buel and Elizabeth Palmer. A 1954 graduate, Connie worked for the state for 10 years before having starting a family. After her first daughter was born, she became a stay at home mom only returning to work part time in the school system when both her girls were in school. Once her girls were grown, she worked for Pupil Benefits Plan in Glenville until she retired early when her oldest daughter got sick with cancer for the 3rd time. Connie is predeceased in death by her husband Richard D. Kubes of Rotterdam, her oldest daughter Sharon Marie (Kubes) Gibbons of Stuyvesant, her sister Joyce (Palmer) Brusig of San Diego, CA, and her brother Richard Palmer of Albany. Survivors include her loving daughter and caretaker at the end, Anissa (Kubes) Diacetis, her brother Bud Palmer of Wilton and her sister Bonnie (Palmer) Marek of Rotterdam. She is also survived by her four beautiful granddaughters, Ashley (Diacetis) Cooke of Scotia, Amber Diacetis of Colonie, Rebecca Gibbons of Long Island and Hope Gibbons of Stuyvesant. She is also survived by her great grandson Leighton (Butch) Zielinski of Glenville whom she loved with all her heart. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 9am -11:00 am at DeMarco Stone Funeral Home. A service will begin at the funeral home at 11 am followed immediately by an entombment at Schenectady Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a trust at Trustco Bank, 1900 Altamont Ave, Rotterdam, NY 12303 for her great grandson Leighton Zielinski who she adored.
