Rotterdam - Consiglia Possumato, 86, was called home to God on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born in Melizzano, Provincia di Benevento, Italy, she immigrated to New York by boat with her husband Antimo and two children in 1972 to fulfil the American dream. Consiglia was a proud employee at General Electric where she worked hard for many years to help give her family an amazing life. Consiglia was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose laughter would spread joy to all in her presence. She always welcomed company and enjoyed graciously sharing life together over tables of endless food, espresso, and wine. Consiglia had a passion for music and dancing from a young age that she carried with her every day; being the life of the party came naturally to her and she celebrated time spent with family and friends regardless of occasion. She will always be remembered for her love for others, delicious meals, playful nature, genuine soul, and singing songs that would make a room full of people smile. She is survived by her two children, Giovanni (Anna) Possumato of Albany and Antonella (Duane) Pechtel of Delanson; five grandchildren, Christopher Ebert, Alaina Possumato, Carina Possumato, Desiree Pechtel, and Michelle Burmistrova; two great granddaughters Karmynn Ebert and Kaura Ebert. Consiglia is also survived by her two sisters, Maria Ciliento and Vincenza Rossi. Along with her parents, Antonietta and Alfonsino Mezza, Consiglia was predeceased by her grandson, Anthony Michael, and the love of her life husband, Antimo Possumato. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday July 27th, from 9-11 am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Rotterdam, with a celebration of life memorial service beginning at 11 am. Entombment will follow at St. Cyril’s cemetery.
