Colonie- Concetta "Connie" Scicchitano, 88, at rest, Saturday July 5, 2014 Connie was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Carmelo R. and Mary Louise Alisandrelli Longo. A local resident most of her life, Connie enjoyed various jobs over her work career, including; teaching ceramics; housekeeping and child care for various families, whose children she became especially attached to. Connie was also employed with Erie Binders as a binder and screen printer.Connie always said she enjoyed labor and every job she ever had. She also enjoyed dancing, cooking and baking for friends and family. Connie was the beloved mother of Vicki (the late Alan Cook) of Fredericksburg, VA, Mary (Gerry Fuschino) Scicchitano of Schenectady, Teresa (Brandon) Scicchitano-deWaal of Petersburg, N.Y.; loving grandmother of Jeremy and Lindsey Cook, Jason Fuschino; loving great grandmother of Gavin Fuschinobeloved sister of Carmelo (the late Norma) Longo Jr. of Onchiota, N.Y. and the late Rita (the late Joseph) Spataford; beloved aunt of Jeanna, JoAnnand Guy Spataford, Christopher and Mark Longo, Robin Princiotto and the late Terri Biel. Connie is predeceased by her long time companion Lester Prewitt (2010). She is also survived by special friends and caretakers, Josephine "Pina" DeMarcoand Anna and Emerson Kelly and all Community Hospice staff. Connie's family wishes to acknowledgethe Scicchitano family members and extended family to whom Connie remained close to, and special friends , Robert and Diane Marcello and everyone who touched our mother's life during her illness Calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 9, from 5 to 7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam. A funeral service will be held Thursday, 11:30 am at the funeral home, followed by burial in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
