Schenectady – Concetta “Connie” Marie Fusco (Daviero), 81, of Schenectady passed on to heaven Saturday, September 30th, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Connie was born on March 25, 1936 in Schenectady and was the daughter of the late Oreste and Philomena (DeCrescenzo) Daviero. Connie graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1954. She worked for 30 years as a secretary at General Electric in the engineering department and as a legal secretary for the Edward D. Vacca Law Office. She was also a stay-at-home mom raising her five children. During her lifetime, Connie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, traveling and playing the slot machines. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of The Abruzzese Society. Connie was a loving and devoted wife to the late Pasquale D. Fusco, Sr., to whom she was married for almost 30 years. She was predeceased by her longtime companion, Joseph Scorzella. A loving and wonderful mother to her five children, Michelle (Tony Urbinas) VanWoeart, Michael (Lori), Anthony (Maribeth), Pasquale Jr., and Steven (Celena) Fusco, Connie also loved spending time with her ten grandchildren, Mark (Kate), Marissa and Matthew VanWoeart, Anthony, Christopher, Johnna, Alexandra and Patricia Fusco, Michael Fusco and Ava Fusco as well as one great grandchild, Mark VanWoeart, Jr. Mom, Auntie, Gram and Mimi always had an open door and a hot meal ready for family and friends that might happen to visit. She is also survived by her brother, Joseph Daviero, brothers-in-law, Anthony, Donald, Mark, Richard and Michael Fusco and sister-in-law, Ann Sidoti-Fusco. She was predeceased by sisters-in-law, Jane Daviero, Paula Brown and Andrea Saglimbeni. Connie is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins and her Aunt Molly Bango, who was her inspiration. Connie’s family would like to thank the family and friends of Connie for their help through her illness especially Rose DeCrescente. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 5th at 9am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant Street, Schenectady. A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4-7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. in Rotterdam. Interment will be in St. Cyril’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connie’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are by R.J. DeLuccia Funeral Service.
