Rotterdam-Clara Rita (Stabinski) Okrasinski passed away peacefully at the Capstone Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing early Tuesday, July 14. Clara was born August 3, 1922 in Kulpmont, PA, the daughter of the late Gabriella and Peter Stabinski.In 1931, her family moved to a farm in Montour County PA where she attended a one-room schoolhouse in rural Mayberry Township next to Vought's Church.After her marriage to Bennie G. Okrasinski in 1939, she moved to Elysburg and then Bloomsburg, PA.In the early 1950's, Clara, Bennie and their children moved to Schenectady.Clara was a wonderful quilter and homemaker as well as the person who was always there for everyone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie G. Okrasinski who was born in Wilkes Barre, PA.Clara was also preceded in death by a son, Benjamin Okrasinski; a sister, Florence (Stabinski) Bednarczyk; Brothers:Joseph, Peter, and Pious Stabinski; Son-in-Law, Ronald R. Dinsmore; and grandson, Daniel Okrasinski. Clara is survived by her Daughter, Joan (Okrasinski) Snyder, and husband Joseph, of Schenectady; two sons: David Okrasinski, and wife Sylvia, of Homestead, FL; and Mark Okrasinski, and wife Michele, of Scotia; Grandchildren:Laura Parsons, Lynne O'Donnell, David Okrasinski.Great Grandchildren:Brian, Rachel and Amanda Parsons; Davy, Alexis, Zackery, Isabella, Mason and Riley Okrasinski; Damian Okrasinski; a sister, Gail (Stabinski) Reilly, Lumberton, NJ; a brother, Frank Stabinski, Rotterdam, NY. In keeping with Clara's wishes, services at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam will be private.Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Clara's memory to the Schenectady City Mission.The family wishes to thank the staff at Capstone, and The Community Hospice of Amsterdam, for their compassionate care and support.
