Clara (Swart) Carroll

Clara Carroll, 97, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Guilderland Center Nursing Home. Clara was born in Duanesburg, NY, the daughter of the late Arthur and Loretta Coton Swart.Following her graduation from High School, Clara attended Hartwick College in Oneonta and graduated with an Associates Degree.She then worked for several years as a dietician. In addition to her parents, Clara was also predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert J. Carroll in 1984, three sisters, Virginia Woods and Madeline Swart and Viola Wronski, and her brother, Hank Swart. Clara is survived by her son, James Carroll and his wife Lucia of Rotterdam, her brother, Harvey Swart of Florida, three grandchildren, John R. Carroll, James M. Carroll and Dianna M. Russell-Carroll as well as two great grandchildren, Shannen Marie Carroll and Brayden Carroll. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 10-11 am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 11 am. Burial will follow the services at Schenectady Memorial Park cemetery.
