Syracuse, NY. Cheryl Mihal-LaFrance, a longtime paralegal for the city of Syracuse and a cherished member of the community, passed away April 28, 2025 at the age of 64. Cheryl was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Born in Schenectady she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mertle (Zajan) Mihal. Cheryl was known for being a talented gardener, elevated crafter, and holiday enthusiast. She spent much of her youth seeing a collection of classic rock bands such as Triumph, Journey, and Doobie Brothers. Her skills as an exceptional baker will be cherished for generations, even if her pies never taste quite the same when made by someone else. Cheryl is survived by her children, Christina (AJ), Travis (Annastasia), and Cheyenne (Erik); and grandchildren, Lukas, Ryker, and Annalita; and older brothers Gary (Wendy), Glen (Mary-Pat), and Joe (Laurie). Calling hours will be held on Friday May 2, 2025, from 10-11:30am at the Demarco Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Tpk, Guilderland, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12pm at Madeline Sophie Church. Burial to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
