Rotterdam- Charles B. Quinlivan Jr., 78, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 12, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Floral Park, NY, he was the son to the late Charles Quinlivan Sr. and Jeanne Wallace Quinlivan. He was happily married to Martha Quinlivan for 45 years. After graduating high school, Charles would join the United States Marine Corps where he served his country honorably. He would then work as a postal carrier with United States Postal Service until his retirement. Charles was one of the founders of the United Umpires of Schenectady, a member of the VFW, the Marine Corps League, and an active member of St. Luke’s Church in Schenectady. He enjoyed bowling, baseball, and watching almost any sport. He was an avid Yankees and Giants fan. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and watching their sporting events. He is survived by his children; Kelly (Harold) Olsmit, Mary (Kevin) Gibbard, Chad (Kim) Quinlivan, and Eric Quinlivan, his grandchildren; Harold Olsmit Jr., Hannah Olsmit, Kali Gibbard, Haley Gibbard, Mia Quinlivan, Nicolas Quinlivan, Lucas Quinlivan, and Arianna Quinlivan, his brother, Michael Quinlivan, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends. He is predeceased by his parents, his wife, Martha, and his brother, Donald Quinlivan. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 5pm-7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Schenectady, NY 12306. Funeral services will begin on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 8:45am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am at St. Luke’s Church in Schenectady. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
