Charles “Chuck” Musto, 88, of Schenectady, passed away on Sunday August 17, 2025. Chuck was born in Schenectady on January 17, 1937, to the late Joan White and Samuel Musto, and was the stepson of the late James White.
Chuck lived a full and joyful life. He was an avid bowler and proudly achieved every bowler’s dream—rolling several 300 games. He was a mountain biking enthusiast and a gifted carpenter. Chuck could truly fix anything, and he took pride in putting his skills to work for both family and friends. Those who knew him will never forget his contagious smile and laugh, which could light up any room.
He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force, and while working for Condec was assigned to Vietnam as a technical advisor to the U.S. Army. Chuck was a proud, retired member of Carpenters Local 291.
Above all, Chuck cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to Irene (Zdunczyk) Musto for 63 years, a loving father to Donna (Thomas) Juers of Rotterdam, Joseph Musto (Christine Owen) of Shorewood, WI, and Linda (Jacob) Picard of Foxboro, MA. He was “Papa” to Meredith (Daniel) Malec, Gabrielle Juers, Penelope Musto, and Ava Picard, and “Great-Papa” to Everly and Harper Malec. His greatest joy was watching his children and grandchildren grow and celebrating their accomplishments.
Survivors include his wife Irene, sisters-in-law Christine Moore, Cecilia Philippone, and Gale Zdunczyk, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Tom, sister Roberta Craig, brothers-in-law Norman Craig, Zygmunt Zdunczyk, Charles Moore, Frank Philippone, and nephew Roger Craig.
