Charles W Ladd Sr

Charles W. Ladd Sr. of Schenectady, NY passed away after a long illness on February5, 2014, at home, with his family by his side. Born on May 10, 1943 in the town of Day, Charles was the son of the late Harry and Frances Ladd. Charles was a lifelong area resident and was employed at General Electric and Advanced Laundry. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting and fishing at the Great Sacandaga Lake. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his companion, Ella Bigelow, a son, Timothy Ladd, his brothers, George Ladd and Richard Ladd, his sister Shirley Lasher and grandson, Michael E. Ladd. Charles is survived by his children, Charles (Lolly) Ladd, Belinda Ladd, Bobby Ladd, Gregory (Sophie) Ladd, Jeffrey Ladd, Denny Ladd, Penny (Rogelio) Rivero, Charlotte (Gary) Jones, Joseph (Athena) Ladd, Eric (Christina) Ladd, Margaret Bigelow, Melissa Bigelow, his brothers, Ronald Ladd, Andrew Ladd, Robert Ladd, Jobe Ladd, his sisters, Alice Ladd, Beverly Birch, Joyce Mendez as well as severalgrandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. A Memorial service for Charles will begin at the funeral home at 10:30. Burial will follow the service at Parkview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St. Schenectady, NY 12308.
