Charles G "Chip" Haessig

Mariaville Lake, NY-Charles G. "Chip" Haessig, age 61, of Route 159, passed away on Tuesday morning, October 6, 2015 in the comfort of his home. He was born on May 18, 1954 on Long Island, NY son of the late William B. and Grace J. (Carl) Haessig and educated in local schools.He was united in marriage with Jill Dearstyne in Schenectady; a blessed union of 31 years.He was last employed with Holbrook Lumber Company, Albany as a manger.Mr. Haessig enjoyed woodworking, painting, gardening, fishing and was very artistic.He will be sadly missed by his family. Survivors include his beloved family; his wife, Jill at home; his children, Jacob "Jake" Haessig of Duanesburg, William B. Haessig and wife Candace of Perth, and Joseph E. Haessig of Duanesburg; siblings, Patricia Haessig of Oswego, Peter Haessig and wife Mary of Gansevoort, Brian Haessig and wife Christine of Oswego, Nancy delPrado and husband Thomas of Rotterdam, Mary Merone and husband Steve of CT, Martha Lashin and husband Kenneth of Rotterdam, Ellen Brumaghim and husband Bruce also of Rotterdam; grandchildren, William Haessig and Ivy Rose Haessig; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to memorial visitation on Friday, October 9, 2015 from 9-10:30 am at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Schenectady.Procession will follow to St. Cyril Cemetery, Rotterdam where a graveside service will commence at 11 am.
