Catherine Dolores (Knapp) Visker, 67, of Albany, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in Kannapolis, NC, surrounded by her loving family.
Catherine, “Kitti,” was born on February 25, 1958, and was the daughter of the late Edward J. Knapp and Constance Boone. She attended Guilderland High School and later graduated from Maria College as a Registered Nurse in 1979. She worked as a Nurse in numerous capacities, such as In-Home Health, the Chittenden County School System, an Allergy Lab, and Prevent Child Abuse Vermont. She was also a certified Lamaze Instructor.
Kitti married her high school sweetheart, Michael J. Visker, in 1980 and remained happily married for the past 45 years until the time of her passing. They enjoyed hiking, running, spending time with family, traveling with friends, watching the NY Jets and Knicks, floating in the pool, and playing cards. Mike and Kitti often planned beach excursions to offer an opportunity for the entire family to spend time together.
In High School, Guilderland Class of 1976, Kitti was Cheerleading Captain, Class Officer and Prom Queen. She is known for her devotion to family, love of Christmas, being a confidante to her children, and her vivacious personality. Kitti enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports, taking pictures, creating memories, and collecting turtle and cardinal figurines. The happiest day of her life was becoming “Nana,” which she got to experience 11 times. She would regularly send handwritten notes to her grandchildren, which would include pages to color, money to save, and printed photos of family memories. Kitti had many close friends throughout the years. She loved reminiscing about good times past, listening to music, and talking about her grandchildren.
Kitti is survived by her loving husband, Michael, and their four children, Kellie (Chris) Gonyar, Michael (Elizabeth) Visker, Joseph (Caitlin) Visker, and Carlie (Alex) Herko, and their 11 beloved grandchildren, Aayla, Henderson, Fiona, Virginia, Clara, Addison, Harold, Lottie, Jack, Grace and Patrick. She is also survived by her sisters, Judy “Aunt Dee Dee” (Nicolas) Zelenewych, Teresa “Aunt Do Do” (Ismael) Ramos and Amy (Tracy) Cicardi, along with many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Edward and Constance Knapp, and two cats, Pockets and LuLu.
