Schenectady, NY. It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Catherine Halnon, age 94 who left this world peacefully on March 19, 2025. She was born in Burlington, VT. She was the daughter of the late Mary Ellen (Ladue) Bellew and George E. Bellew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her granddaughter, Sarah Colligan; her five brothers, Edward, James, Matthew, George, and Douglas Bellew; as well as her sister, Carol Higgins. She is survived by her seven children: Mary (Bill) Fennell, Patricia Fritts, Anne Halnon, Nancy (Mark) Backowski, Joanne (Paul) Manikas, Frank (Mary) Halnon, and Bobbie Kay (Chris) Tymula. In addition, she leaves behind ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, her brother Larry Bellew, sisters-in-law Cathy Halnon and Phyllis Halnon, her dear best friend Jackie Lochner, and many other cherished family members and friends. Her deep devotion and unwavering dedication to her family, especially during the festive holidays filled with large gatherings, brought her immense joy. She loved spending time in her backyard tending to her beautiful gardens. Though her absence fills us with deep sorrow, we take solace in knowing that her spirit will live on through the love she shared and the lives she touched. Calling hours will be held on Monday March 24, 2025 from 11-12:30pm at the Demarco Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave, Schenectady, NY.
